Councilors-at-Large Office Hours: Increase Committee Engagement
April 9, 2024
12:00 p.m. Central (60 min)
All Subject Matter Committees are invited to attend the Councilors-at-Large (CALs) Office Hour. In this session you'll learn how to engage your committee membership for action.
Subject Matter Committees (SMCs) meetings can be about more than just proposing a Special Session for the APS annual meeting. They can be an opportunity to organize workshops or webinars, write review articles or editorials, or to galvanize action with wide ranging impacts on aspects or topics related to your committee members expertise and interests.
Hear from Lindsey du Toit (chair) and Shaista Karim (vice-chair) from the Seed Pathology Committee to hear how members of their committee developed a 12-part online Seed Pathology Fundamentals course offered through APS with 422 participants attending from 51 countries, and a waiting list of >200; and how this committee continues to support active engagement of academic, government, and industry members in diverse aspects of seed pathology.
This will be followed by a Question/Answer session where you can ask questions and brainstorm other ideas for committee engagement.
Register today!Registration closes on April 9 at 11:00 a.m. Central
