Keynote Speaker—Professor Olufunmilola Alabi
Prof. Olufunmilola Alabi, Professor of Plant Pathology at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, holds a B.Sc. (Botany), M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Crop Protection. She teaches and supervises theses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
She has served as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at different times in Bowen University, Iwo; ABU, Zaria; and presently at the Federal University Lokoja. She has also served as Head of Department, Programme Leader, and Project Coordinator. She has been a member of the Board of Governors of some agricultural institutions.
She is a Fellow and one-time President of the Nigerian Society for Plant Protection, a Fellow of the Africa Scientific Institute and the Mycological Society of Nigeria. She is also a member of the American Phytopathological Society, the International Society of Plant Protection, and other professional societies.
Her research interests include Plant Disease Epidemiology, Varietal Development for Disease Resistance, Integrated Disease Management, Mycotoxins and Food Safety, Parasitic Weeds, and Gender Issues. She also collaborates on projects with international research institutes.
She has over 65 scientific publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals, edited proceedings, scientific newsletters, technical papers, and books; and over 50 conference, workshop, and invited papers.
