Phytopathology News Editor-in-Chief

Appointment and Term

Council appoints an individual APS member to serve as the editor-in-chief for a three-year term​ that may be renewed for a second term. 

Responsibilities

  • Assumes the role of editor-in-chief at the beginning of the next calendar year following appointment.

  • Establishes, in consultation with APS Staff Editor​ and with final approval by Council, the general editorial and publications policies and procedures for Phytopathology News.

  • Consults with APS staff on matters that pertain to the activities and ​publications of Phytopathology News, with deference to Council.

  • Works with APS Staff Editor to insure the timely publication of accurate and appropriate material in Phytopathology News.

  • The APS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the business manager and publisher of Phytopathology News. The editor-in-chief and the CEO establish publication schedules. The APS Treasurer is the responsible fiscal officer.​
