"I thank the Office of International Programs for the Books to the World Award through which I received four (4) copies of Essential Plant Pathology for teaching Biology of Plant Pathogens, an Introductory Plant Pathology Course at the Chinhoyi University of Technology in Zimbabwe. After receiving this book, in the first semester of teaching, seven (7) students shared the books and currently a class of 30 students is sharing the books. It has been easy for me to assign chapters that they have to read so as to better understand plant pathology because the book is simple to read and well written. It engages the student and ignites curiosity with questions and answers in the text and at the end of each chapter. This is a great book that covers all aspects of plant pathology and introduces the student who is taking plant pathology for the first time to biotic and abiotic causes of plant diseases, factors affecting their development, how to diagnose them and how to manage them without being overwhelming. Teaching plant pathology was much easier for me this time around because of this great all-encompassing well-written resource book."

"The text books and compendia donated by the APS OIP Library Donation and Books for the World programs will be an invaluable addition to our plant pathology capacity building program in the Lao PDR. The bulk of the books will be housed in the Crop Disease Diagnostics Laboratory of the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Office in Pakse, Champasak Province, with copies distributed to a second diagnostic laboratory in Savannakhet Province, the Sai-Nyai eco-school located in Batchieng District and the National University of Laos, Nabong Campus. The books will assist current and future volunteers, as well the local laboratory staff in diagnostic, training and extension efforts to district and provincial staff and farmers."
