Validation Statistical Calculators

Welcome! The following webpages help assay developers and validators calculate test performance values. This test performance data helps validators communicate test fitness for various applications.

Each performance characteristic is part of a larger validation scheme which varies in complexity depending on the intended use of the assay.  In general, as a test is used by more people in more places, there are more variables affecting test performance that need to be anticipated and assessed. Below is an overview of how and when these validation descriptors are measured:

Each webpage contains a description of how and why performance characteristics are calculated, the formulae underlying the calculators, and how to interpret and report the results. You may skip ahead to inputting data at any time.
