Read the Latest Phytopathology Focus Issue

In March 2023, APS conducted a survey among its members and among the readership of its journals to identify and rank the main obstacles that challenge plant pathology in the next decade. Based on the survey results, Phytopathology invited submissions addressing these key challenges. The Key Challenges in Plant Pathology Focus Issue was published in May 2024. Key challenges discussed in the issue include the impact of climate change on the disease triangle, plant disease resistance mechanisms, and specific diseases like those caused by Candidatus Liberibacter spp. and Xylella fastidiosa. The articles also explore disease detection, disaster impacts, plant disease control strategies, and publishing strategies to enhance findability, accessibility, and reuse of digital assets in plant pathology.
