The mission of the Office of Public Relations and Outreach (OPRO) is to promote plant health, plant diseases, and associated microorganisms to the public and APS members; increase media coverage of plant health issues in order to demonstrate the value of plant pathology to society; assist the Public Policy Board in strengthening advocacy for science-based public policy; and to promote the science of plant pathology to students and educators and support the Office of Education in their endeavors.
