Pathogenicity and Teleomorph-Anamorph Connection of Botryosphaeria dothidea on Sequoiadendron giganteum and Sequoia sempervirens. J. J. Worrall, Former Extension Specialist, Department of Plant Pathology, University of California, Berkeley 94720. J. C. Correll, Research Assistant, and A. H. McCain, Extension Plant Pathologist, Department of Plant Pathology, University of California, Berkeley 94720. Plant Dis. 70:757-759. Accepted for publication 4 March 1986. Copyright 1986 The American Phytopathological Society. DOI: 10.1094/PD-70-757.

Pathogenicity of Botryosphaeria dothidea (=B. ribis) to giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) and coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) was demonstrated in greenhouse inoculations of both hosts and in field inoculations of giant sequoia. Both the teleomorph and anamorph were found on giant sequoia, and their identity was confirmed by single-ascospore isolations and inoculations. No evidence for host specificity was found.
