Light- and electron-microscopic observations of Ceratocystis ulmi showed that typical eukaryotic nuclei were present in hyphal tip and older cells. Conidia and the majority of hyphal cells contained a single nucleus. Most organelles typical of other Ascomycetes were also observed in this fungal pathogen.
