Evidence for a Single Coat Protein in Southern Bean Mosaic Virus. John H. Hill, University of California, Davis, 95616; Phytopathology 61:1408-1409. DOI: 10.1094/Phyto-61-1408.

The coat protein of southern bean mosaic virus was shown to consist of a single polypeptide, as shown by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis experiments. A single electrophoretic component was obtained with alkylated protein in two cationic gel systems containing urea, and one anionic gel system containing, dodecyl sulfate.
