About the Tour
The OPSR Industry Tour is open to graduate students and post-docs interested in learning
how organizations in the private sector and not-for-profit sector operate, as well as the various types of career opportunities available to those seeking employment with a plant pathology background. Topics will cover biotechnology, crop protection, field sciences, discovery research, seed health, and plant health regulations among others.
The tour includes three full days visiting sites in the Midwest while covering a broad range of activities that highlight specific roles in the aforementioned segments to help students better understand the expectations around the career opportunities available in industry and not-for-profit. Participants will meet agriculture business professionals at each of the following sites:
- Corteva Agriscience in Zionsville, IN
- Valent USA in Urbana, IL
- Bayer CropScience in Chesterfield, MO
- Donald Danforth Plant Center in Creve Coeur, MO
- Syngenta Clinton, IL
Transportation:
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the tour start site in Zionsville, IN, their transportation back home, their hotel accommodations the night before the tour begins, as well as the last night of the tour (if necessary).
OPSR will provide transportation, hotel accommodations (double occupancy), and meals
during the tour.

Registration will be limited and runs on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of 19 participants. Participants must register by filling out and submitting the registration form at the link below with the required documents.
