APS Compendia
Many titles in the APS PRESS Diseases and Pests Compendia Series are now available in several digital formats, giving users ready access to this comprehensive set of resources. Twenty-one compendia are provided as an online set through a personal use subscription. Subscribers can save files to an offline library or download files in PDF format; basic navigational tools enhance viewing and searching content. Eighteen compendia are also available individually as ebooks, which can be purchased and downloaded to Kindle and iBooks readers.

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is an online service that validates and indexes high-quality, peer-reviewed, open access journals with the goal of increasing access to research worldwide. DOAJ indexes nearly 11,000 journals and has more than 900,000 page views and 300,000 unique visitors a month.

The APS Office of Public Relations and Outreach (OPRO) attended the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT) conference in San Diego, California, on November 8–9, 2018. OPRO members engaged with biology and life science teachers from all over the United States, answering questions about APS and pointing teachers to APS resources to integrate into their curricula.

The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sorghum and Millet is now inviting expressions of interest on sorghum pathology combined with human and institutional capacity building. PPB was recently notified that the FDA has opened registration for a series of four 1-day public meetings to discuss the draft guidance for compliance and implementation of the Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption rule.
