2017 APS Annual Meeting: Pitch 120
Sponsored by the Office of Public Relations & Outreach (OPRO), the Pitch120 Training & Practice Session is a free workshop, available to the entire APS membership.
OPRO Board members and additional students will provide some initial training to attendees on how to “pitch” your research in two minutes, using straight-forward, clear and interesting approaches.
We will build off the OPRO board’s 2016 workshop during which Judith Humble and Ruth Borger lectured on scientific communication principles from the importance of knowing and understanding your audience, to the importance of effectively describing your research using layman’s terms.
The goal of this networking event is to not only equip members with the skills they need to effectively communicate their science to a wide audience, but also to participate in a Pitch120 contest to be held in 2019!
