A formula system for describing Puccinia graminis f. sp. avenae avirulence/virulence combinations on Avena sativa based on nine single-gene backcross differential lines (including two new genes for resistance) and one undefined genotype is proposed for international use. Thirty different avirulence/virulence combinations have been identified in P. graminis f. sp. avenae in North America with this group of differential lines.
