Reversal of Self-Inhibition by Peroxidase and Hydrogen Peroxide in Wheat Stem Rust Uredospores: Mode of Action. V. Macko, Boyce Thompson Institute, Yonkers, New York 10701, U.S.A.; J. A. A. Renwick, Boyce Thompson Institute, Yonkers, New York 10701, U.S.A. Phytopathology 64:901-902. DOI: 10.1094/Phyto-64-901.

Peroxidase and hydrogen peroxide stimulate the germination of uredospores of Puccinia graminis var. tritici by conversion of the self-inhibitor to an inactive compound, apparently a dimer of methyl ferulate.

Additional keywords: methyl cis-ferulate.
