A Quantitative Technique for the Extraction of Soil-Inhabiting Mites (Acarina) and Springtails (Collembola) Associated with Pod Rot Disease of Peanut. Marvin K. Beute, Associate Professor, Department of Plant Pathology, North Carolina State University, Raleigh 27607; Phytopathology 64:571-572. DOI: 10.1094/Phyto-64-571.

A technique is descried for rapid extraction of certain soil microfauna associated with the pod rot disease complex of peanut. It is suggested that greater consideration be given to all soil microfauna in studies of the ecology of soilborne pathogens.
