A compound formed from the pterocarpanoid phytoalexin, phaseollin, by the activity of the fungus Stemphylium botryosum was identified as phaseollinisoflavan on the basis of chromatographic comparisons and by ultraviolet absorption, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mass spectra.
