Root and butt rot of Delonix regia is caused by Ganoderma lucidum. It is a serious disease in areas with high humidity and rainfall levels. Young trees are more susceptible than older trees. Infected trees usually die within 6–24 months after symptoms appear. G. lucidum has a wide host range and often affects members of the family Fabaceae.
