Puccinia kuehnii is now present in Brazil, infecting cultivars of sugarcane (RB 72454, SP 891115, SP 842025, and RB 92606) in the states of Sáo Paulo, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro, and Mato Grosso do Sul. Tests conducted by the Biological Institute showed that molecular total DNA isolated from symptom-bearing leaves with uredinia matched DNA sequences in GenBank (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/289469932).
