Anthracnose, caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum, is one of the major diseases of beans in Minas Gerais State, Brazil. This pathogen is seedborne, resulting in widespread distribution. Anthracnose is economically important because it causes poor seed germination and poor seedling vigor and reduces yield dramatically.
