Genetics of Resistance to Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis Races 0 and 2 in Muskmelon Cultivars Honey Dew, Iroquois, and Delicious 51. F. W. Zink, Plant Breeder Emeritus, Department of Vegetable Crops, University of California, Davis 95616. . Plant Dis. 76:162-166. Accepted for publication 22 August 1991. In artificial inoculation studies, muskmelon (Cucumis melo) cultivars Honey Dew, Iroquois, and Delicious 51 were resistant to races 0 and 2 but susceptible to races 1 and 1-2 of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis. Segregation ratios of F1, F2, and BC1 populations of crosses between resistant Honey Dew, Iroquois, and Delicious 51 and susceptible Top Mark indicated that resistance to races 0 and 2 of Fusarium wilt is conferred by a single dominant gene. In allelism tests, resistance was determined to be controlled by the gene (Fom 1) or an allele of this gene.
