25. PB-2 Pokkah boeng disease can cause distortion of the apical meristem (cultivar H62-4671) and a malformed or damaged top and stalk. The base of a severely affected leaf may be narrow and deformed. Stalk elongation is reduced, and mature stalks have shortened internodes. The leaf adjoining the sheath is chlorotic, but younger leaves appear normal in color.
