24. PB-1 The mildest symptom of pokkah boeng is bleaching at the base of young leaves where they join the leaf sheaths. The disease may be caused by Fusarium moniliforme (teleomorph: Gibberella fujikuroi) or F. subglutinans (teleomorph: G. subglutinans). Pokkah boeng symptoms may also be induced by mechanical damage, and hence the nomenclature.
