Berlin Nelson is a native of Washington
and received his Ph.D. in Plant Pathology in 1979 from Washington
State University. He has been at North Dakota State University since
1979 where he is a Professor teaching Plant Pathology and Mycology and
working on the biology of soilborne fungi. He served as President of
the North Central Division of APS in 1993. He has been advising the
public and local health organizations on indoor mold problems since
the Red River flood of 1997.
