It is now five years since the arrival of soybean rust, and APS is pleased to announce the 2009 National Soybean Rust Symposium. Attend this unique symposium to learn more about the latest discoveries and achievements toward understanding the biology, management, and monitoring of this invasive pathogen and share perspectives on the challenges that still face producers and the agriculture industry. The symposium will celebrate recent discoveries but also discuss the continued impediments to progress. This is your opportunity to network with other researchers and practitioners who share your specialty and to explore new areas of investigation in soybean rust. Presentations and discussion topics will include disease management strategies and tactics, efficiency in scouting, development of disease resistant varieties, molecular biology and genetics, discovery and deployment of Rpp genes, and experiences of those on the “front line” from the kudzu patch to the soybean field.
