Online e-Xtras
Electronic enhancements to MPMI articles
Consider adding one or more electronic enhancements (referred to as
"e-Xtras")
to the online version of your MPMI article. See below for the
options available, and let the senior editor assigned to your article know
of your interest. The e-Xtra
logo will appear on the first page of your article in print, the online
tables of contents listing for your article, and the online abstract of
your article. The logo indicates that additional materials are provided at
the end of the online abstract.

Color
Could your article use more color? Figures appearing in black and white
in the print version may be published in color online.
FEE: An extra $20 per figure.

SUBMISSION: With your initial submission, indicate to the senior
editor that you wish to publish specific figures in color online. Include
the color print original. Be specific in your cover letter that your
figure is black and white in print, but color online.

Supplemental Materials
Consider enhancing your online article with additional tables, lists,
files, or images. Supplemental materials must be reviewed by the senior
editor, follow journal style, and be in a final format that will require
no editing or modification by journal staff. Submission must also include
a short description of the supplemental item. This description will be
appended to your article's online abstract. Supplemental materials will
not be included in the print or year-end CD-Rom versions of the journal.
FEE: $20 per item.

SUBMISSION: APS will accept MS Word and WordPerfect word processing
documents; MS Excel and Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheets; and .jpeg and .gif image
files.

Links to Approved Websites
Your online article can contain links to GenBank or other sites on the
web that are approved by the APS Publications Board. These links will be
made from your HTML abstract on APSnet. Links to personal web pages
are not allowed.

FEE: Up to five links free of charge; additional links, $5 each.

SUBMISSION: Simply submit the requested links with your article for
review. Make sure the URL's are complete, commencing with
"http://"
