UPCOMING DEADLINE: APS members were previously notified of the Federal Register, August 12, 2002 (Volume 67, Number 155), regarding the Agricultural Bioterrorism Protection Act of 2002; Listing of Biological Agents and Toxins and Requirements and Procedures for Notification of Possession. You should be aware that any person or facility that possesses any listed biological agent or toxin must notify APHIS of such possession by 60 days after the publication date of this interim rule on August 12, 2002. This deadline to respond is coming close. The August 12, 2002 Federal Register Notice, the Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002, and the PPQ FORM 655 -Notification of Possession or use of listed Plant Pathogens can be found at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ppq/permits/bioterrorism/ or on APSnet at http://www.apsnet.org/members/ppb/RegulatoryAlerts/top.asp.
