EPA extending comment period for producers of plant-incorporated protectants; APHIS is adding four varieties of Berberis species to to the list of black stem rust-resistant species

The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is seeking public comments by July 19, 2007 on an environmental assessment for a field test of two non-pathogenic, genetically engineered strains of Burkholderia glumae, to assist in the development of control methods to reduce yield loss caused by panicle blight. The National Science Foundation is holding a Regional Grants Conference - October 22-23, 2007, in Portland, OR, hosted by Portland State University.
