The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has issued an Interim Rule which took effect on June 8 and upon which public comments are due by August 7, 2006 which amends the citrus canker regulations to establish provisions under which eligible commercial citrus nurseries may, subject to the availability of appropriated funds, receive payments for certified citrus nursery stock destroyed to eradicate or control citrus canker.

The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) of the USDA is soliciting comments on the proposed updates and technical corrections to the administrative provisions of the National Research Initiative Competitive Grants Program. The solicitation appeared in the Federal Register (71 FR 32479, June 6, 2006).
