EPA issues Final Rule for residues of bacteriophages
when used as bacteriocides.

EPA issues a Final Rule establishing an exemption
from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of the bacteriophages
when applied/used as bacteriocides on tomatoes and
peppers related to bacteriophages manufactured by OmniLytics. These specifically target the bacterial
pathogens Xanthomonas campestris
pv. Vesicatoria and
Pseudomonas syringae pv.
tomato present on tomatoes and peppers. Objections and hearing requests are due
to EPA by February 27, 2006. Full information in the December 28 Federal Register.
