Subject: APHIS Final Rule on Citrus; Comments Requested on New Pests, and Wheat

APHIS issued a final rule governing the importation of citrus fruit to allow Unshu oranges grown on Honshu Island, Japan, to be imported without fumigation if the distribution of the fruit within the U.S. is limited to states that are not commercial citrus-producing states. APHIS seeks comments on a program designed to collect information, predict potential pest situations, promptly detect and respond to the occurrence of new pests, and record the location of those pest incursions that could hinder the export of U.S. farm commodities.
