Plant pathologists with an interest in ecology are invited to comment on a series of documents produced by the NEON Design Consortium. Documents have been posted at www.neoninc.org and this website also offers on-line review forms for each document. Of the eight ecological challenges considered by NEON, plant pathologists might be particularly interested in Infectious Disease, Invasive Species, Land Use, and Biodiversity and Ecosystem Functioning, as well as Education and Facilities and Infrastructure. The first comment period extends to February 20, 2005. As the NEON design documents evolve, additional opportunities for public comment will follow Design Consortium meetings scheduled for March 15-17, 2005 and June 7-9, 2005.
