Legislative alert to U.S. members:

Although the NRI received a significant increase in the last FY, the proposed level of funding supported by the House of Representatives for the coming FY is greatly reduced from $166 million to $149 million. The Senate Agricultural Appropriations Subcommittee will soon be making recommendations for the level of support for the NRI for the coming FY. If you feel that funding for the NRI should not be reduced you may wish to contact the Senators on the committee (see list below).
