Create greater public awareness and understanding of plant pathology. Support the future of plant pathology.
APS is a vibrant, growing organization that evolves with the interests and energies of its members. You too can directly influence the direction of plant pathology and APS by actively engaging in outreach intiatives that interest you most.
The Public Policy Board provides scientific input to make certain that plant pathology issues stay at the forefront of policy and funding initiatives. The Education Center ensures that the next generation of plant pathologists is being exposed to the science, and the APS Foundation provides support to students and researchers in plant health science.
Other programs, such as the Office of Public Relations and Outreach, informing the public of the efforts of plant pathologists, and the Office of International Programs, promoting increased worldwide interaction of scientists, are a valuable part of the organization.
In addition, you can interact with sister societies from around the world through cooperative agreements with the International Society of Plant Pathology (ISPP), the Chinese Society for Plant Pathology (CSPP), and with related scientific, agricultural organizations through the APS Affiliates Program and new initiatives such as the Coalition for a Sustainable Agricultural Workforce (CSAW).
