APS Foundation EndowmentThis is the APS Foundation's general fund and is designed to support those programs that fall outside the scope of the more specific funds listed below. Books for the World Fund (New in 2014!)This award is to help scientists, educators, extension personnel and other agriculturalists in developing countries acquire educational materials from APS Press and to promote international distribution of APS Press books, CDs and other resources.
J. Artie and Arra Browning Plant Medicine and Health Travel Fund This fund provides graduate students majoring in the Doctor of Plant Medicine, Doctor of Plant Health, and similar programs assistance to attend and participate in a professional meeting or conference appropriate to their interests.
This award will provide support for early career plant pathologists in broadening their professional development through experiential learning and leadership opportunities.
I. E. Melhus FundThis fund supports a student speaker or student symposium at the APS Annual Meeting.
JANE EndowmentThe JANE Endowment supports international research on potato late blight. This $100,000 fund also provides a cash prize to the recipient of the APS International Service Award. The JANE Endowment was established by Dr. John and Ann Niederhauser. Mathre Education EndowmentThis fund, established by Don and Judy Mathre, supports plant pathology education programs such as the APSnet Education Center. In 2014, it has been expanded to include support for students pursuing a variety of projects and experiences.
Noel T. Keen FundThis fund provides a cash prize for the Noel T. Keen Award for Research Excellence in Molecular Plant Pathology.
Plant Pathology Experiential Award Fund (New in 2015!)This award is to promote career and research development experiences outside of academia for graduate students, post-doctorates, and departments.
APS Public Policy Endowment (New! Seeking Support)This endowment supports the unique opportunity initiated by the APS Public Policy Board (PPB) for an APS member to spend several months working at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) each year.
Raymond J. Tarleton Student Fellowship EndowmentThis fund was established by Raymond J. Tarleton to support graduate students in plant pathology research and to encourage students to further their careers in plant pathology.
Schroth Faces of the Future FundThis fund was established by Milt and Nancy Schroth. Earnings from this endowment support the annual "Faces of the Future" syposium at the annual meeting, acknowledging up and comers in a specific area of plant pathology research.
Named Student Travel FundsThe interest from these funds helps underwrite the cost of APS Annual Meeting attendance for students. The Graduate Student Committee assists the Foundation in developing application standards and in awardee selection. Named Student Travel Awards are given in honor of:
