APS Potomac 2003 Meeting

Joint meeting with the Eastern Branch of the Entomological Society of America was held March 16-18, 2003, in Harrisburg, PA.   • Robert E. Davis was elected Vice President, and Daniel P. Roberts was elected Secretary-Treasurer. Brief biographies of these new Division officers (there is a Knight among them)
  • The Division's Distinguished Service Award was awarded to Arvydas P. Grybauskas (citation) and Nichole R. O'Neill (citation)
  • Mbisin Diagne received the Memorial Fund Student Travel Award
  • Josh Marvel won the Best Student Paper Award of the Potomac Division, Mbisin Diagne won second place.

Ms. Mbisin Diagne (right) received the Memorial Fund Travel Award from Potomac Division President David Clement. Ms. Diagne also won second place in the graduate student paper competition.

Meeting arrangements

  • Registration ($85 for members, includes banquet, free for student members, additional rates on website registration form) was due to Tom Anderson by February 28 to avoid higher on-site fees.
  • Potomac Division abstracts for publication in Phytopathology and on APSnet are due no later than the meeting dates (March 16 or 17). Abstract forms with instructions may be downloaded from the APS website. Contact Jim Kotcon or Anton Baudoin with questions.
  • Deadline for submission of Ten-Minute-Paper titles was December 13, 2002. Student competition abstracts should also have been submitted at this time. Applications for the Potomac Division's Memorial Fund Student Travel Award were due by December 13, 2002. Details and application procedure.
