Hotel Information for 2002 Meeting

Hotel

A block of rooms has been reserved at special rates for the ERCERIM and APS Joint Meeting at the Radisson Fort Magruder Inn and Conference Center, 6945 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, VA. It is your responsibility to make your own lodging reservations. Please call the hotel at 800-333-3333 and ask for in-house reservations. Reservations must be made by February 4 to receive the discounted group rate of $59, single or double (plus tax). This same special rate will be available for people who would like to come earlier and spend a weekend in the Williamsburg area (available from March 1 to March 10>). You must mention the ERCERIM or APS Meeting to obtain the special rate. Additional charges do exist for triple or quad occupancy as well as a $10 fee for roll-away beds.

Driving directions, Airports, shuttle service

Travel By Car. Please check the web-site for additional travel information. To obtain exact driving directions please visit MapQuest and enter in your departing destination and then the address of the hotel (6945 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, VA 23185). The hotel is conveniently located off of I-64.

Directions:

  • I-64 to Exit 242A/Route 199 (Busch Gardens/Williamsburg).
  • Follow Route 199 to Route 60 East/West Exit.
  • Left on Route 60 West.
  • Fort Magruder is located one mile on the left on Route 60.

The Fort Magruder Inn and Conference Center is located in Southeastern Virginia. Williamsburg/Newport News, Richmond, or Norfolk International airports offer daily jet service. Numerous interstates and Amtrak's Old Dominion Service also make Fort Magruder Inn easily accessible. The Inn's direct number is 1-800-225-1533 (in Virginia) or 1-800-331-5204 (out of state) or direct at 1-757-220-2250.

Travel By Air.

Airport information is detailed below. Special discounted airfare has been negotiated with USAirway for travel to the ERCERIM/APS Meeting. To obtain a discounted rate, you can give the gold file number (96691582 or 72172190) directly to your travel agent or you can call USAirway toll-free at 1-877-874-7687 and refer to the Virginia Tech Division of Continuing Education Goldfile Number 96691582 or 72172190. You'll receive a minimum of 5% off the lowest applicable fare or 10% off the unrestricted coach fare. Plus, if you book 60 days in advance, you will receive an additional 5% discount. You can also inquire about the special zone fares that are available (only if you call the 800 USAirway number); these zone fares do not require a Saturday night stay and are usually heavily discounted.
