Early Career Award

 

 

NOmination  Procedure

 

All nomination materials must be received by May 1, 2008

 

Nominations are invited for the Pacific Division EARLY CAREER AWARD.  This award

was established in 1999 to honor selected individuals belonging to the Pacific Division with 10 or fewer years of postgraduate experience and/or service.  The award can be for a single outstanding contribution or for sustained significant notable contributions to plant pathology in extension, research, teaching or industry.  Additional information on the Early Career Award can be found on the Pacific Division website (http://www.apsnet.org/members/div/pacific).

 

Nominations may be made by any member or group of members belonging to the Pacific Division.  The Early Career Award is to be awarded as appropriate only in years when exceptional candidates are nominated.  No more than one award will be given each year.  Nominations will be held over for three years and can be updated by the nominating member(s) as appropriate.

 

To nominate a candidate

 

Prepare a nomination statement (no more than two pages double-spaced) giving the name, year and name of institution granting degrees, current position and affiliation of the nominee.  Include a description of the accomplishments and any supporting citations or other material that qualify the nominee for the award.

 

 Prepare an accurate biographical sketch of the nominee not exceeding 1,000 words.

 

Submit Word files of the nomination statement and biographical sketch by May 1, 2008 to: Dr. Doug Gubler, Chair, Pacific Division Early Career Award Committee.
