The APS Graduate Student Committee represents APS graduate and undergraduate student members to strengthen the APS student community. The APS GSC provides a venue for students to connect across institutions. The APS GSC fosters professional development through different forms of communication (e.g. Special Sessions, Webinars, media, etc.). The committee encourages student integration into the broader APS community by promoting volunteerism and service in APS.The APS Graduate Student Committee provides opportunities to strengthen the APS student community across institutions and supports activities for professional and academic development.

The U.S. Borlaug Fellows in Global Food Security graduate research grant supports exceptional graduate students who are interested in developing a component of their graduate research in a developing country setting and in collaboration with a mentor from an International Agricultural Research Center (IARC) or a qualifying National Agricultural Research System (NARS) unit. U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. graduate program at the time of application.
