2017 APS Annual Meeting: Travel Information
Airline Information – San Antonio International (SAT)Conveniently located just fifteen minutes from downtown San Antonio and serviced by 10 domestic and international airlines, the San Antonio International Airport is located in Northern San Antonio. Loop 410 and U.S. 281 are the two highways providing access to the main entry points.
Rental Car:There are several companies to choose from when renting a car at San Antonio International Airport. Please contact the company of your choice for more information. Car rental counters are located in Terminal A. Passengers can use the courtesy phones provided in the baggage claim area of Terminal A to request shuttle transport to the car rental company of their choice after hours or can proceed to the shuttle pick up area located outside the baggage claim area. Rental car facilities are located near the airport.
Taxi:Taxi cabs are available at the lower level curbside, outside of baggage claim, at Terminal A & B. For assistance, please contact the Airport Ground Transportation employee (wearing red shirt). Fare to San Antonio downtown areas start at $29 (U.S.) per taxicab. (Up to 6 may share a cab, if both luggage and passengers fit safely.)
Ride Share:Uber, Lyft, and Get Me are well-established Ride Shares in San Antonio. Approved rideshare services (or ride-hailing or ride-booking service companies) meet customers curbside lower level Terminal B.
Hotel Shuttles:Hotel shuttles are located outside the SAT’s baggage claim area for your convenience. Please contact your hotel of choice to inquire whether they offer courtesy shuttle service. A hotel kiosk with courtesy phone is available in the baggage claim area for passengers to call their hotel for specific arrival or departure times for the shuttle service. We recommend advance confirmation of this service with the hotel of choice.
Public Transportation:VIA Metropolitan Transit is San Antonio's public transportation agency offering service throughout the city including streetcar service within the downtown area.
Getting Around San Antonio:VIA Metropolitan Transit has plenty of bus lines and routes that are serviced throughout San Antonio. Be sure to check timetables and schedules, and plan your routes in advance.
