Welcome Reception – Exhibition and Posters
4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Create your global network, connect with colleagues, meet with exhibitors, and take in the science offered with more than 700 posters. Light refreshments will be served. Ticket is included with full registration. Guest tickets are available for purchase on the registration form.

Early Career Professionals’ Social with Employer Networking Opportunity
6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Tickets: $10
Participate in this unique social, designed for early career professionals, to mingle with your colleagues as well as learn about new job opportunities. Academic, government, and industry employers are invited to join the event to network with prospective employees. Light refreshments will be served. Preregistration is required.

Graduate Student Social

The one social spot where all plant pathology students come together to connect. Light refreshments will be served. This event is limited to students only. Preregistration is required.

Industry & Extension Networking Event
6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Tickets: $35
Experience an evening onboard the exquisite Yacht Starship while you connect with industry colleagues. Your ship will be waiting for you to come aboard at the Tampa Convention Center dock.  While in port, enjoy the various food stations located around the ship from 6:30-7:30 p.m. After dinner, you can choose to disembark or remain onboard for a 1 ½-hour harbor sunset cruise. Enjoy the beautiful water views of Tampa Bay at sunset while sipping a beverage on the promenade deck. This evening cruise will provide a tropical setting to expand your professional network with industry representatives and extension professionals from around the country. Preregistration is required. Attendance is limited so sign up early.


TUESDAY, AUGUST 2

Academic Unit Leader Breakfast and Meeting (formerly Department Heads Meeting)
8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Tickets: $40
This focused meeting provides a platform for plant pathology department heads/chairs, academic unit leaders, or their representatives, from the U.S.A. and international institutions, to meet with colleagues, review priority issues, and learn more about the APS Academic Unit Leader Forum (AULF). Ticket includes cost of breakfast. Preregistration is required.

Career Fair
3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
For the first time ever, network with potential employers in the plant pathology community at the Annual Meeting Career Fair. Learn about different organizations and job openings using the Career Fair Guide. Employers, reserve a table here.

LGBTQA Social and Networking Hour
6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
You Belong Here.  Be part of the LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and Allies) Social and Networking Hour to celebrate community, awareness, and diversity. No charge; beverages available for purchase. Contact Jim Bradeen (jbradeen@umn.edu) with questions.

Committee for Diversity and Equality presents “#You&Diversity”
7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Tickets: $25/$20 students
#You&Diversity - Geo-cultural diversity across APS divisions: Diversity of faces, clothes, attitudes, values, traditions, behaviors, beliefs, and rituals define today's workplace. All APS members are encouraged to join in an engaging discussion on the images, assumptions, and generalizations, both good and bad, associated with different regions of the United States. Final Night Celebration – Tampa on the Bay
