Drug addiction for a long time became the world disaster. The method of the biocontrol of opium poppy, Papaver somniferum L. by using microorganisms with raised virulence has been developed. The biotechnological semi-industrial method of preparation Pleospora papaveracea (De Not.) Sacc. includes: reisolation of pathogen from infected plants of poppy; purification of monoclones; preparation of mycelium in liquid media, collecting and drying of pathogen spores. On the basis of this technology together with the UN expert Dr. M. Greaves, composition of mycoherbicides, which is highly effective for the biocontrol of illegal crops of opium poppy in natural conditions has been created.
