General Information
Registration Procedures
You are encouraged to register as early as possible. This also increases your chances to reserve a space in “first-come, first-served” events. The deadline for Advance Registration is June 14, 2002. By registering in advance you save on your registration fee. And, your annual meeting materials will be ready for you when you arrive at the meeting.
If you have never been a member of APS, take advantage of the Meeting Plus Membership option. This option is also available to students. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn of the features and benefits of APS membership. This offer is not for current, renewing, or past members.
Your registration fee entitles you to attend all sessions and exhibits, the Opening Reception, and the Breakfast and Business Meeting on Tuesday. Registration fees cover the expenses of meeting facilities, annual meeting materials, and meeting management.
Your registration form must be mailed or faxed along with payment. Faxed forms will not be processed unless credit card information is included. Unfortunately, no telephone registrations can be taken. If you have questions please call APS, +1.651.454.7250.
Registration will take place at the Midwest Express Center during the following hours:
Saturday, July 27 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 28 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Monday, July 29 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, July 30 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, July 31 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Meeting registration cancellations must be made in writing and postmarked or faxed to APS headquarters no later than July 10, 2002. These cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. Cancellations after July 10 are not eligible for a refund.
Tickets
APS uses a ticket system so that we can better anticipate the number of people attending events including free events. If you do not check an event on the registration form, we assume you will not attend.
Tickets will be collected for all food functions, including the APS Opening Reception and the Opening Session and Breakfast. It is APS’s policy not to refund tickets after June 14, 2002. This policy enables APS to provide accurate attendance figures to the convention center, hotels, and other suppliers and allows the Association to keep meeting costs down. If you miss the June 14, 2002, deadline you may be able to exchange tickets with other meeting attendees via the APS Message Board located at the APS registration area. We appreciate your understanding.
Abstracts and Program Book
Abstracts and Program Books will be given out when you pick up your registration materials in Milwaukee. An update on the latest meeting program information, including sessions and oral and poster abstracts, will be available in late June on APSnet at http://www.apsnet.org/meetings/2002/. You are encouraged to review abstracts electronically prior to your arrival. Abstracts will also be published as a supplement in the June issue of Phytopathology. If you do not receive Phytopathology and wish to have a copy mailed before the meeting, please indicate at #17 on the registration form.
International Participants
If you are from a country other than the United States, you will need a valid passport or visa and should apply at the embassy, consulate, or mission in your country prior to departure. Processing of these requests takes time. Your application should be made well in advance of your scheduled departure.
Media Information
Members of the media are extended complimentary registration for
press coverage of the APS Annual Meeting. To register in advance,
