Awards Available
Frank L. Howard Fellowship
The
Frank L. Howard Fellowship offers funding for undergraduate
research. Applications
are due January 23, 2009.
French-Monar Latin American Fund
The French-Monar Latin American Fund
supports Latin American graduate students and early career plant
pathologists. Applications are no longer being accepted for 2007
I. E. Melhus Fund
Each year funding support is provided for a graduate student symposium at the APS
Annual Meeting through the I. E. Melhus Fund.
Applications are due January 15, 2009.
International Travel Fund
The Foundation, in cooperation with the Office of International
Programs, has established the
International Travel Fund to support travel costs for
early- to mid-career international APS members to participate in an APS
annual meeting. Applications are
due November 3, 2008.
John and Ann Niederhauser (JANE) Endowment
This award was created to facilitate international cooperation related to research and management of plant diseases, with particular emphasis on those caused by Phytophthora.
Applications are due December 15,
2008.
Pioneer Fellowship in Plant Pathology
This graduate student
fellowship through the APS Foundation with gifts from Pioneer Hi-Bred
International, Inc. to help attract students to careers in plant
pathology, emphasizing disease resistance, host-pathogen interactions,
and disease etiology was awarded in 2005. The next available application
process will take place in 2008.
Schroth Faces of the Future Fund
Funding supports a symposium at the
annual meeting to acknowledge the "up and comers" in a specific area of
plant pathology research.
Applications are due March 2, 2009.
Student Travel Grants
Students interested in travel grants for the APS Annual Meeting can
compete for several awards via the APS Foundation Travel Grant
Application. Applications are no longer being accepted for 2008.
