Figure 31.  Animation of effects of dwarf mistletoe over 100 years in a Douglas-fir stand. This animation shows the results of Forest Vegetation Simulator model runs with and without the dwarf mistletoe submodel, fed into the Stand Visualization System to build the images. The simulations are based on a real stand on the Fremont National Forest, Oregon. The stand starts at 80 years old with stand DMR = 2.6. Final DMR with the mistletoe model on is 5.6. Basal area starts at 97 ft2ac-1 and ends at 64 (with mistletoe) or 329 (without mistletoe).
