Leaf blight of onions.
Leaf blight of onion plants is
a fairly common disease in the United States where onions are grown. The disease
is caused by a fungus called Botrytis allii. Infection of the leaf by the
fungus often results in death of the leaf itself as well as the flower head that
forms later. Photograph courtesy S. K. Mohan, from the Compendium
of Onion and Garlic Diseases.
