The violet colored line is a line pattern symptom being expressed in a variegated African violet that is infected with Impatiens necrotic spot virus (ISNV). ISNV is transmitted by thrips and is a difficult disease to manage in many horticultural crops. Removal of infected plants and control of thrips are major points in its control (Courtesy K.
