Syngenta is a young company, formed in the year 2000. But it has inherited years of experience from Novartis Agribusiness and Zeneca Agrochemicals. Syngenta ranks first in crop protection worldwide, and third in the seeds market. Pro forma sales in 2000 were approximately US $6.9 billion.
