Conducting gypsy moth survey in various low, medium, and high risk areas of mixed hardwood/softwood forests and urbanized locations within the Lake Pontchartain watershed area.
2007 – 2011 Ph.D. Graduate Fellowship Plant Biosecurity Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge, LA. Screening Gulf Coast Species forest species for reaction to Phytophthora ramorum. Investigated the effects of salinity on P. ramorum infectivity. Monitoring of South Louisiana water ways for detection of P. ramorum and other Phytophthora and Pythium spp. Extensive education and training in Plant Biosecurity and Global Food Security.
2005 – 2006 Graduate Assistant Southern University & A&M College, Baton Rouge, LA Developed an Urban Forest GIS Database for the City of Central, Louisiana. Assisted students and clientele with GIS software applications such as ArcGIS 8.1, 9.1, and 9.2. Conducted GPS (Global Positioning System) applications of renewable natural resources, urban forestry, and infrastructure in conjunction with GIS applications.
