The Forage Improvement Division of The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Inc. is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for Dr. Carolyn Young’s laboratory to study the interaction of fungal endophytes with their cool-season grass host. This project involves a functional genomics approach to identify genes important for the association of Neotyphodium coenophialum and tall fescue.
This position is funded by the Noble Foundation, and will be for an initial period of two years based on performance, with the possibility of extension for a third year. The Noble Foundation is a private, non-profit organization focused on the improvement of agriculture with state-of-the-art research, greenhouse, laboratory, and office facilities. The Foundation offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience and excellent benefits.
Job Requirements
The Successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree in biological sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in next generation sequencing, functional genomics, molecular biology or plant microbe interactions. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, creative-thinker capable of independent thought and research. Organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various research groups are essential.
